On Tuesday 11AM-1PM PDT (1800-2000 UTC) we will have a partial chef downtime for a database migration. During this window, the following functionality will be disabled:
* organization creation, deletion and editing
* inviting users to orgs, and rescinding invitations
* dissasociation of users from organizations
The endpoints for the above functionality will be in read-only mode.
Chef client runs and knife and webui access should continue to function normally.

During this period, we advise customers to avoid berkshelf usage that references supermarket.getchef.com or cookbooks.opscode.com. There will be two maintenance periods Oct 20. Both posted Supermarket notices apply.

Fri Oct 3 13:37:59 UTC 2014 Our monitoring and logs both show that the upstream issue resolved itself. The affected window was approximately 4 PM UTC 10/2 - 2 AM UTC 10/3.
Some users may be experiencing failures when uploading cookbooks. We are investigating the issue and currently believe that this is the result of connectivity problems between our datacenter and an upstream provider happening since 4PM UTC today.
